Construction, Landscape & Utility Marking Flags

OSCO offers a complete selection of marking flags for utility and municipality safety marking, pesticide posting, lawncare/irrigation, marking sewer and drain lines, job site needs and more. All flags are made of durable 4-mil plastic. More than a dozen colors are available, including all American Public Works Association (APWA) colors, and long-lasting ink is used for any printing. 

Utility marking flags are commonly used to note where gas, electric, water, phone or other lines are buried. The utility flag markers serve a dual purpose: they protect the utility lines from damage and service disruptions if digging is taking place in the area, and they protect the person doing the digging from the risk of shock or explosion. 

OSCO marking flags can be used on any jobsite, construction site or utility location. Wire staffs are the most common, and staffs are also available in PVC plastic and fiberglass. Utility marking flags from OSCO are fade-resistant and are available in both standard and fluorescent colors.

APWA Color Standards

OSCO offers utility marking flags that follow APWA guidelines:

Red

Electric power lines, cables, conduit and lighting cables

Orange

Communication, cable TV, alarm or signal lines, cables or conduit

Yellow

Gas, oil, steam petroleum or gaseous materials

Blue

Water, irrigation and slurry lines

Green

Sewers and drain lines

Pink

Temporary survey markings

White

Proposed excavation and construction boundaries

Purple

Reclaimed or non-potable water

Flags can be used with three staff options:

• Wire — Sturdy 15.5-gauge steel
• PVC Plastic — Solid 1/8", tangle-free
• Fiberglass — Non-conductive, semi-rigid, .08" diameter

• Fluorescent: Flo Orange, Flo Pink, Flo Lime and Flo Rocket Red
